We went to the MTG to learn more about cubism faces. Something I would like to know more about what the original Picture was.something I really enjoyed is making the cubism faces.

Cross country

My cross country recount:

On Wednesday the 6th 2017 at 11.30  we had cross country at Fandon Park. We came with the senior school teachers and two of the middle school teachers. First we arrived at Fandon Park by the Clive pools.We walked down the bank and jumped over the fence and sat down in your age groups. Next Mr Basset had a mini micro-phone that was connected to a mini speaker that he used to call up the 8year old girls. When I heard the two pieces of wood slam together the girls were off. While we were waiting for the girls to finish we started warming up. After the girls had finished we lined up at the start line and Mr Basset said go and we ran from the start line to the first rugby goal post. After we got there I was puffed because we were running against the wind.  Once I got around the goal posts I ran behind the shed and past Ms Petherick. Then we went down the side of Clive pools. Now I was on the straight. I passed 2 people and crossed the finish line. After, all my friends were puffed and proud.

Reading term 2 In reading this week I read the book 'Wet' on the reading eggspress app. I did not use the read-back function. Something I learned that the mangroves tree is the only salt water tree I also learned that wetlands are like giant sponges. When rivers overflow, wetlands store all the excess water and stop flooding. I passed all of the comprehension tests . I needed to re-read 6 chapters to pass

In swimming I am in the dolphins group. When I jump into the water I fell the refreshing water on my face . When a am swimming I uses to the water and the water gets warmer . The water is cold and fast moving when we are in it . Something I did well was breathing I am working on is my speed in the water .

On Wednesday the 22nd of Feb 2017 Room 6 and some parents went on a Waka at Clive River . First we had a talk about some of the Maori war stuff and weaponry . Second we put our life jackets on then we got onto the waka and had a practice of the calls then we were away . After that the current was very strong even my strong arm was getting tired . Then we went under and the calls echoed through the bridge . After we had gone under and out a bit then we stopped to give our arms a rest . Later we started going for about 5 minutes then the small boats turned us around and me and Vincent switched sides . Next we had a go of paddling backwards we didn't get that far back so we started to go back . We went back under the bridge and back to sheor then got off the waka and took our life jackets . Then we ran to the cars and drove back my group got back first . The waka trip was amazing I’m sure all our class enjoyed it !!!!
